Tony Wuerfel
7th - 11th Bible, Reading, English, P.E., Drama
Tony Wuerfel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, History and Religion from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. Tony says he came to VRA because "the mountains beckoned me and I followed."
Tony is married to Danielle, although he doesn't get to see her a lot this year as she is finishing her Physical Therapy degree at Andrews University. His interests, besides Danielle, are underwater basket weaving, button collecting, and spending every spare minute reading.
Mr. Wuerfel's goals for this year are to teach a love for learning as well as to help his students see their Creator in new and creative ways. His favorite quote is from Jack Kerouac: "The only people for me are the mad ones, mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved...The ones who never say a commonplace thing." He says the little known thing about him is this: "I can bake 20 minutes brownies in 15 minutes, leap small buildings in a single bound all while holding the attention of 20 students seated neatly in front of me."
